Chinas top political advisory body slams Uygur act

　　Chinas top political advisory body voiced strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition over the United States signing the so-called Uygur Forced Labor Prevention Act into law.

　　The act grossly interferes in Chinas internal affairs and seriously violates basic norms governing international relations, said a statement issued on Friday by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

　　Adhering to a people-centered development philosophy, China has always attached great importance to protecting peoples right to work and employment, and resolutely prevented and eliminated any form of forced labor, the committee said.

　　Xinjiangs labor and employment policies and practices comply with Chinas Constitution and laws, as well as international labor and human rights standards, and meet the aspirations of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang for a better life, it said.

　　Its obvious to the global community that Xinjiang enjoys political stability and economic development and people live a happy life, the committee said, adding that The US has turned a blind eye to this.

　　The US has repeatedly made up rumors on Xinjiang to make trouble, engaged in political manipulation and economic bullying under the guise of human rights, which fully exposed its sinister intention of using Xinjiang to contain Chinas development, it said.

　　The committee urged the US to stop the actions to slander China and suppress enterprises and industries in Xinjiang.

　　Such attempts cannot stop people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang from pursuing a better life, nor can they stop the historical trend of Chinas continuous development, it added.
